By using our platform, you agree to these Terms, so please read them carefully. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the platform.
1. Introduction
Local Bee (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an online platform that connects mentors and mentees. Our platform allows mentees to access expert guidance across various fields and enables mentors to share their expertise. These Terms govern your use of our platform, services, and any associated content.
2. Definitions
- Platform: The LocalBee LLC website, mobile application, and any related tools or services provided by LocalBee LLC.
- User: Anyone who accesses or uses the platform, including both mentors and mentees.
- Mentor: An individual offering mentorship services via the LocalBee LLC platform.
- Mentee: An individual seeking mentorship services through the platform.
- Content: Any information, text, graphics, photos, audio, video, and other materials provided or available through the platform.
3. Account Registration and Security
To use certain features of the platform, you must register for an account. By registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Keep your account login details confidential.
- Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. LocalBee LLC is not liable for any losses or damages resulting from your failure to safeguard your account.
4. Eligibility
By using the platform, you confirm that you are:
- At least 18 years old.
- Able to form legally binding contracts.
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
If you are under 18 or not legally permitted to use the platform, you may not access our services.
5. User Conduct
When using the platform, you agree to:
- Use the platform only for lawful purposes.
- Avoid posting, sharing, or distributing any content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
- Avoid disrupting or interfering with the platform, servers, or associated networks.
- Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
Failure to follow these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.
6. Mentorship Services
Mentors on the platform are independent contractors — not employees or agents of LocalBee LLC. We only provide the platform to connect mentors and mentees and do not control or endorse their services.
Mentors’ Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and detailed information about services.
- Conduct mentorship sessions professionally and respectfully.
- Honor agreed terms with mentees (duration, content, pricing).
Mentees’ Responsibilities
- Respect mentors’ time and adhere to scheduled sessions.
- Clearly communicate goals and expectations.
- Follow agreed guidance from mentors for personal growth.
7. Payment Terms
Local Bee does not charge subscription fees. Mentees pay only for services from mentors, processed via third-party payment processors.
For Mentees:
- Payment is due upon booking; fees are shown at purchase.
- LocalBee LLC is not responsible for disputes but may assist in resolution.
For Mentors:
- Payment is made for services, minus third-party processing fees.
- LocalBee LLC takes no additional commission beyond necessary fees.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
- Mentees: Cancel ≥ 12 hours before a session for a full refund; within 12 hours is at the mentor’s discretion.
- Mentors: Notify mentees promptly if cancelling; mentee receives full refund if mentor cancels.
9. Intellectual Property
All platform content (text, graphics, logos, images, software) belongs to LocalBee LLC or licensors. No reproduction, modification, or distribution is allowed without written permission.
Mentors and mentees retain IP rights for their own content but grant LocalBee LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use their content within the platform.
10. Privacy Policy
Use of the platform is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the data practices outlined there.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LocalBee LLC and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
The platform is provided “as is” with no warranties.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LocalBee LLC, its affiliates, and staff from any claims arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your use of the platform.
- Disputes between mentors and mentees.
13. Termination
We may terminate or suspend accounts for violations or other reasons, with or without notice. You may close your account anytime by contacting support.
Certain public content may remain after account termination.
14. Dispute Resolution
Disputes should first be attempted to be resolved informally with LocalBee LLC. If unresolved, arbitration will be conducted under the laws of Texas, United States of America.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms anytime, with notice via platform or email. Continued use of the platform after changes means acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States of America, without conflict-of-law principles.
